Short
Band der Waals is an alternative rock and fusion band from Ecatepec de Morelos, State of Mexico. A group of engineers who wanted to bring science, emotion and music together formed it in October 2022; the name comes from van der Waals forces, the weak attraction between molecules. They blend rock with jazz, R&B, indie and pop, with sax and keys up front.
Long
Since their first single, Cantando por ti (2023), they have released 13 singles and EPs, including the Fuerzas de Atracción EP (2024) and Acción: Pt. 1 (2025), recorded live at their first headline show at Foro del Tejedor. They played the main stage of Tecate Foodtruck Fest in Monterrey alongside Kumbia Kings, Genitallica and Serbia, opened for Sputnik and Desierto Drive at Foro La Paz, and returned to festivals in 2026 with Rocknnctte. Their lyrics deal with feelings head-on.
